Resilience in Work, Life and Relationships

In better times as in tough, the key to building and living resilient relationships begins by putting on your own oxygen mask before giving to those more vulnerable.

While counterintuitive, we know it works.

Yet not everyone does it, and some continue to rescue and resuscitate others for too long. Sometimes it’s because they feel others may not have the psychological hardiness to cope or because we have created patterns of predictable behaviour that have allowed others to side step responsibilities or obligations.

And as a consequence “resilient’ people carry on regardless and rarely find their own personal space, share their load or canvas support.

So while this webinar will not give you the 5 top tips of how to cope as a parent, partner or manager, tell you how to deal with aging parents or provide the one magic answer for every person, it will give you practical options in how to:

  1. How an overdue conversation with others, alleviate stress and establish new boundaries.
  2. Utilize a variety of communication options with your family and colleagues that are realistic and not risky.
  3. Re-adjust your mindset around current behaviours, perceptions and expectations.

Visible Leadership: Speaking Up & Standing Out In 2024

What would it mean to you if 2024 was the year you were recognised and valued for all of your skills, capabilities and experience?

Why do so many people shy away from being more visible, from standing out, and being rewarded and recognised for the incredible contribution they make? Having worked with thousands of people over many years we know that things like self doubt, perfectionism, difficulty in communicating their value and worrying about being judged or criticised are often part of the problem.

Too many people worry that sharing their value will come across as self-promoting or boastful. But to be noticed, recognised and rewarded we have to speak up, stand out and advocate for
ourselves. Becoming your own best advocate to advance your career is simply about making sure the right people, know the right things about the problems you solve and the value you add: your skills, capabilities, experience and importantly career aspirations. It’s about making sure that your hard work and accomplishments lead to the career progression you want and deserve.

Advocating for yourself means that even when you do feel a little self-doubt, or don’t have the confidence you would like, you’re still clear about what you want and are willing to ask for it that’s the power of Self Advocacy.

In this session, we will support you to own the value you bring to the workplace and show you how to amplify that in service or you and your career goals. Walk away with:

– Clarity of why it’s important for you to stand out and advocate for yourself

-How to articulate and share your value in an impactful way

-How to proactively foster a network of sponsors, mentors and peer advocates

-An understanding of what’s holding you back from being visible and standing out

-Strategies to stand out, get noticed and be visible from a place of authentic power, and a plan to achieve your goals and overcome any barriers that may be holding you back
