Drive to Thrive: Lessons in Leadership from the Racetrack to the Boardroom

Motorsport champion Molly Taylor exemplifies the power of perseverance, teamwork, and risk-taking. As the first Australian woman to drive the Dakar Rally and a World Champion in the Extreme E Series, Molly shares her journey from overcoming obstacles to achieving success in a male-dominated sport. She focuses on key lessons on trust, communication, and teamwork, demonstrating how these principles translate from the racetrack to business. She also explores how to push beyond comfort zones, embrace challenges, and thrive in high-pressure environments, offering valuable insights for women in business and finance.

        Key Points:

Under the helmet, gender is irrelevant. How performance, attitude and success comes down to what you bring to the table and how breaking stereotypes can facilitate change and new opportunities.

Talent can win races, but teamwork wins Championships. The crucial role of high performing teams and how a successful team can be inspired by any member. How to integrate individual strengths in a way that ensures the whole is greater than just the sum of its parts and how each member plays a part in problem solving, adapting to changing requirements and working together to achieve complex and stretch targets.

Power of the process. The importance of mindset in approaching extreme, risky and high pressure environments and how these frameworks can be applied in a business context. How process can be used effectively to evaluate performance, deal with failure and setbacks, measure success and provide clearer accountability and direction.
